{gspeech}People First New Zealand is happy to announce the winning entries for the very first ‘Card of the Year Competition’.

Artists with learning disability were invited to enter their art for the competition. People could choose what kind of art they wanted to do. Some chose to take photos, others chose to paint or draw. All of the entries had to have something to do with the logo of People First New Zealand – the butterfly.

20 entries were received from all around New Zealand and in the end, National Committee decided to choose 3 winners! The winners all received prize money and the card that won 1st place has been made into the People First 2014 Card of the Year.

Congratulations to the following people:

1st prize: Bernadette Stone, Porirua

2nd prize: Elana Brock, Whanganui

3rd prize: Tracey Beck, Tauranga

People First is currently organising for all of the entries to be displayed in cafes around the country. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more details about when this exhibition will be on tour.
