In 2003 People First New Zealand became independent; the DVD shows members all over New Zealand talking about their rights and how People First had made a difference to them in their lives.

In 1993, 96 people with a learning disability came from all over New Zealand to a conference in Rotorua. For the first time we had a conference of our own.

The 14 minute conference DVD shows our thoughts on our lives and the many advocacy issues we face.

In 2004 we added another 4 minutes to bring our story up to date. This shows how we set up our national office and became independent.
